    Description

Huge Ancient Indonesian Jatim mosaic glass bead which dates approximately to 10th -12th century AD or quite possibly even earlier 600 to 900 AD which was traded into Africa. Sometimes Jatim beads are mistakenly called Majapahit beads. This specimen measures 2 inches long by 1.95 inches wide. Excellent condition! Ancient Jatim glass beads are polychromatic and where produced in Java, Indonesia from 900 A.D. and earlier. These beads show the influence of Roman and Middle Eastern beadmaking techniques that pre-date Islam. This is a very amazing, original ancient bead not a reproduction which is the case with most of the Jatim beads on the market today.
